Not to mention, which foods should I NOT give my dog?
Most people find a way to share their food with the dog from time to time.. some clearly more than others. It can be a rewarding experience for you and your fur buddy.
But we also need to be careful as many things we eat, may not be so good for your dog.
When we first saw the list, there was one that clearly stood out… and I have to admit, I did not realize fat trimmings were a bad choice. Years ago they used to to say that fat trimmings were OK for dogs, as it helped their skin and fur. Well times have changed and we find that fat trimmed from meat, both cooked and uncooked, may cause pancreatitis in dogs. And also remember, although it seems natural to give your dog a bone, a dog can choke on it. Bones can also splinter and cause an obstruction or lacerations of your dog’s digestive system. So as a dog owner we have to help protect our furry buddies. Some foods we think may seem to be OK to give to the dog, may actually be dangerous and/or toxic to your dog.
Below is a list that may help.
